BASIN Glacial Waters is a new kind of wellness experience. If you’re curious about how to book, what to bring, or what to expect—we’ve gathered the most common questions to help you feel grounded before your visit.

  • To encourage self-discovery and relaxation for all guests, BASIN Glacial Waters does not allow smartphones and other mobile devices into the experience. Please leave them with your belongings in a secure locker before entering the thermotherapy circuit.

  • The Glacier Lounge is an area for rest and nourishment that is part of the thermotherapy cycle. It is exclusive for guests of BASIN Glacial Waters and cannot be accessed by outside guests. The lounge is an open space to rehydrate and restore with a focus on wellness. It offers a small menu of simple, freshly prepared small dishes and a selection of nootropics and adaptogens.

  • BASIN Glacial Waters will be for guests aged 18+. Children are not permitted to access the facility.

  • Guests will be invited to freely discover and experience the indoor and outdoor areas of the facility during their allocated visit time. At select times of day, there will be guided enhancements and short sessions held within enclosed areas of the space, serving as additional wellness experiences to the thermotherapy guided journeys. These will be available to a number of guests on a pre-reserved basis.

  • The BASIN Glacial Waters thermal wellness experience is based on thermotherapy, the ancient practice of flowing through different water temperatures in a cycle to enhance overall wellbeing. The facility offers an indoor-outdoor experience, featuring a series of varying-temperature pools, saunas and resting spaces.

  • Spa treatments will continue to be offered in the Fairmont Spa, located in the lower lobby of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. BASIN Glacial Waters is a self-guided thermal bathing circuit that guests are encouraged to experience at their own pace.

  • During its opening phase, BASIN Glacial Waters will be available exclusively to overnight guests of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, with daily access passes – bookable on a pre-reserved basis while availability allows – opening up to guests outside of the hotel at a later stage.

  • BASIN Glacial Waters is located at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the heart of Banff National Park.
